Jonathan Bernardini, MD

Dr. D. Jonathan Bernardini is known as one of the top pain management specialists in Greenwood Village, Parker, and Thornton, Colorado. He welcomes new patients with or without a referral to Metro Denver Pain Management (MD Pain).

Dr. Bernardini earned his medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and went on to complete an internship in general surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center in central California. He also received specialized training in aerospace medicine at nearby Travis Air Force Base. He served as an active-duty flight surgeon for five years at bases in Korea and Italy before completing an anesthesiology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, both in Massachusetts.

With his specialized pain medicine training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, one of the most esteemed pain management programs in the United States, Dr. Bernardini offers a range of interventional and non-interventional methods to treat many painful conditions, from headaches and neck and back pain to cancer pain and more. He specializes in helping people with vertebral compression fractures and neuropathic pain conditions by using treatments like medications, injections, and physical therapy.

As one of the few pain specialists with a triple-board certification in interventional pain management by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, and anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Bernardini works hard to understand the cause of the pain first so he can recommend the best solution possible. He strives to start with conservative treatments first, and often works closely with a patient’s primary care physician to get the best outcome.

When not presenting scientific papers at national meetings or caring for patients, Dr. Bernardini spends quality time with his wife and two children in their Denver-area home.
